We’ve grown weary of paying for repairs on our GTI. We love the car itself, and if it never needed to be fixed, we’d keep it forever, but it’s getting long in the mileage tooth so repairs are expensive…time to cut the car and stick with our motorbikes.
Much to my glee, this is opening up a whole bunch of motorbike gear buying opportunities….
A new helmet – I’ve been coveting the Shoei GT-Air Wanderer for over a year and a half now. It’s lovely, and now that I’ll be riding a LOT more, worth considering even with the hefty pricetag.
A new oversuit – my old one is massively huge now, so I’m considering jumping on the Aerostich bandwagon and picking up the Roadcrafter Classic City 2 piece. Grey with black ballistics.
Some protective-yet-comfy for running around town shoes – maybe some Dainese Street Biker D-WP shoes or maybe the TCX Urban waterproof boots. Maybe both – they’d both fill a void (like riding to the HR Managers Association luncheon or other work things).
A pair of armored jeans for urban (aka riding to brunch) riding – I’ve got a pair of the Rev’IT Broadway jeans on order. They have pockets for hip armor, one of the only pairs of riding jeans I’ve found that has accommodation for hip armor. I hope they fit.
Maybe, just maybe, a bluetooth setup for hearing my GPS turn-by-turn directions when I get my Scrambler. Maybe.
