Now that I live in an area with roads (lots of roads, compared to Alaska), I’ve decided I’d like to actually use the audio turn-by-turn feature on my GPS. I also really, really like listening to my iPod, especially on long rides. Dilemma, right?
Wrong! I ordered up a Mixit device (check them out here if you want) that will allow me to listen to both. When the GPS wants to tell me where to go (heh!), it’ll mute out my iPod for a few minutes. Cool!
All this gadgetry requires some minor surgery to my tankbag. Scott has determined that it’s safer if he uses the soldering iron (he’s completely correct in this – I have a track record of starting accidental fires) to perform said surgery. This particular hole will allow the necessary cables to be run from my GPS to the Mixit device. I’ll be testing the whole setup next weekend. I’m super excited at the prospect of minimizing my chances of getting lost (I hate getting lost).
