My awesome husband spent most of today replacing my BMW’s prematurely failed water pump. Remember this? It seems that the Santiago water pump repair job was pretty sloppy, including an overtorqued clutch actuator (the broken bit in the third photo) that was broken and epoxied back together and missing seals on the water pump, among other things. I blame siesta time 🙂 According to the husband, I’m fairly lucky that the engine didn’t grenade. It was apparently a nasty mess in there. All should be well now, especially once I get a new clutch actuator – we’ve re-epoxied it in the meantime. He also took the awesome photos of the work in progress!
