The husband just finished swapping out my chain and sprockets and doing an oil change. My little BMW feels so much smoother now 🙂 Mad thanks to him and his mechanic skills. And for his super-artsy photo of my chain 🙂
Filed under ‘Liz Gets Techy’
I just figured out how to pair my phone with my Sena bluetooth helmet system in media only mode so it acts like a glorified iPod (and I can’t actually get calls through my helmet comms system – win!) and got my GPS paired. Now I have my playlists at my disposal and I can […]
Lady Rider! Rock and ROOOOOLLLL!
Today was a Target run day. I almost always get interesting looks doing the Target room by bike, but today I had a pretty awesome encounter. A mom was unloading her youngster from the back seat, and the kid looked at me and my bike and said “Mom! Loooook!” as he pointed excitedly at my bike. […]
Commuting By Cage Sucks
Finally got back on the bike today after my holiday break and Portland’s snow-and-ice-pocalypse over the last few days. I worked from home the first day, and then booked a Zipcar for the last two days since it was just too icy for two wheels. Commuting by cage just sucks. It’s boring, hard to maneuver […]
In Which I Fall Into a Hole…
So this gigantic hole caught me by surprise on my way home tonight. I’d gotten stopped by a train that was going nowhere fast, and got the brilliant idea to turn around on a back road in the industrial part of town. Unbeknownst to me, this ginormous and deep hole (photo taken looking back the […]
Landslides closing Portland roads, snarling rush hour traffic
Landslides closing Portland roads, snarling rush hour traffic So this landslide resulted in a massive reroute for my commute home. We’ve been having epic rains (yesterday broke the record for the most rain in a day in Portland EVER) and lots of road flooding, but tonight I wound up taking the massively long way round […]

Scott Correy – It was drizzly and in the high 30’s today… | Facebook My awesome husband wrote this earlier. I think he summed up the joy it is to ride every day, in all sorts of weather.
New shock = New ride
Well almost 🙂 Went on a ride with the husband today (it’s Saturday – time for the weekly brunch run to our favorite local brunch spot) for the first time since he installed my new shock. I’ve gotten used to his ‘helpful’ comments on my riding over the years, but today I got the best comments […]
Bike vs HID Headlight
Years ago, we installed an HID headlight on my BMW to save me some juice so I could run heated gear without risking draining my battery. It was great – super bright, dependable, and definitely took less juice to run. Last week, I noticed that it wasn’t always coming on the way it was supposed […]
My First Puncture
Yesterday, I got my first ever puncture (courtesy of a rather large masonry screw) on my way into work. It probably happened about halfway in to my commute but surprisingly, it wasn’t until I was riding back from my dentist appointment about an hour and a half later until I felt something was wrong. The […]
